Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (GBVS)

Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme Logo

"Please note: BDUK issued a voucher pause across Oxfordshire on the 8th April 2022 to allow them to refine their Intervention Area for Project Gigabit. All schemes not already in build are paused and are currently being reviewed by BDUK. We expect to have the outcome of their review in June and will share this with the scheme leads and suppliers when we do."

Vouchers worth up to £210m have been launched by the government to build upon the success of the Rural Gigabit Voucher Scheme, which closed in March 2021 - more than 66,000 vouchers were claimed, worth up to £127m. The new vouchers will help to cover the cost of installing gigabit capable connections to eligible, rural homes and businesses across the UK when part of a community project and with broadband speeds less than 100Mbps.

Vouchers Available:

  • Businesses can claim up to £3,500
  • Residents can claim up to £1,500

What is a Gigabit capable connection?

1Gb = 1,000Mbps

A Gigabit capable connection will provide full fibre (FTTP) optic cable directly to the premise. Full fibre networks are future proof and can deliver the connection speeds we need - not only for today, but also for the future.
