New vouchers worth up to £210m have been launched by the government to build upon the success of the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, which closed in March 2021 - more than 66,000 vouchers were claimed, worth up to £127m. The new vouchers will help to cover the cost of installing gigabit capable connections to eligible, rural homes and businesses across the UK when part of a group project and with broadband speeds less than 100Mbps.
- Businesses can claim up to £3,500
- Residents can claim up to £1,500

What is a Gigabit Capable Connection?
One gigabit is the same as 1,000Mbps and will provide full fibre (FTTP) optic cable directly to your premise. Full fibre networks are future proof and can deliver the connection speeds we need - not only for today, but also for the future.
How Does the Scheme Work?
Only eligible businesses or residents as part of a group project can access the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme through a registered supplier, who will then produce a project proposal. See the chart below for the step-by-step process to activate the voucher:
Project Gigabit is a £5bn programme aimed at reaching more than one million hard-to-reach homes and business to have next generation gigabit broadband to at least 85% of UK premises by the end of 2025.
